Shifting the perspective on mental health to a proactive and positive approach.
Dr. Campbell initially enlisted in the Army at 24 years old and quickly observed the disparity in the mental health and wellness space within the military. She soon shifted her career track from the medical route to clinical psychology and social work; on a mission to improve this pressing issue. She was discharged in 2007 and became a military contractor and then was commissioned into the Army as a behavioral health officer. She was a fully licensed provider by 2010 and her career has taken off ever since. Mental health is just like any other condition – something to be treated and not necessarily a lifelong affliction. Currently, Dr. Campbell gives talks, trainings, and workshops all over the country to organizations, teams, and other clinicians.
Dr. Campbell believes everyone in their life has challenges at some point. We can either learn to manage our challenges or be managed by them™. Therapists and counselors should not be your friend. They should provide a supportive role in your life. Therapy should never be a life-long commitment; growth, learning, and the journey should be a lifelong endeavor. Dr. Campbell has over 20 years of experience working in and with the military, law enforcement, and the first responder community from a counseling, training, and consulting perspective. It can be difficult to find a provider who conceptualizes the challenges and fears with accessing mental health support within these professional fields. Dr. Campbell is an SME in suicide prevention, intervention & suicidality education. She teaches all aspects of conceptualizing human behavior, trauma recovery, trauma processing and neural functioning.

At some point in everyone’s life they will be faced with a challenge, mental health from a conceptual perspective can be just that, a challenge or series of challenges that someone can learn to manage versus being managed by.™
