Suicide prevention training with a dog!

Suicide Intervention Training

Behavioral health is just like any other medical specialty with the exception of the stigma attached to help seeking behavior. With The Campbell Method® we seek to educate and destigmatize mental health in a clear up front manner driven by solution focused approaches to meeting the need whereby providing ways to manage a person’s challenges versus being managed by them.

“Throughout this process we are going to partner and talk about things you would rather avoid, but at the end of the day, when you come out on the other side, you are going to have a different perspective. You have to be ready for what it takes when you come to the table.”

Topics that are focused on during speaking and workshops include:

Brain
Training

In mental health, it is not uncommon for people to be “diagnosed” with a clinical issue or have the challenge that they are faced with “labeled”, as a disease or disorder. The Campbell Method® seeks to reframe the challenges that people experience in life as just that… challenges. When people feel empowered they are often in a place where shifting their mind set in order to learn to manage their challenges versus being managed by them is a process that can produce success. Brain training is the process of skill acquisition that empowers the individual.

Healthy
Relationships

Within the mental health field it is not uncommon for there to be as many definitions for healthy relationships as there are varying relationship structures. What can be agreed upon is that the top issues that bring couples into counseling are often: communication, finance, and sex. When people can learn to speak transparently while knowing when to pause and listen combined with taking a risk and being vulnerable within the partnership, they can learn how to engage in healthy relationships. Healthy relationships are not void of boundaries, emotions, choices, consequences, and rewards. Healthy relationships should be filled with support, commitment, caring, and open communication.

Healthy Communication

Few people receive formal communication training in life, engaging in this type of skill based acquisition can be very beneficial in many aspects of daily living. It is not uncommon for people to experience fear related to transparent communication, however, when your mindful, practice active listening, speak clearly and with clarity, seek understanding, use I statements, listen without judgment, validate feelings, and are validated, the results can be exponential within your relationships.

Proactive Mental Health & Wellness

It is not uncommon for people to see mental health support when things in life get to a point where they feel like they now need additional support. What if mental health was viewed in a light like other medical specialities? What if meeting with a clinical provider was something that was considered routine? Everyone in life is faced with challenges at some point in their life, approaching mental health and those challenges from a proactive approach has the potential to lead to greater health and wellness from a whole person perspective. At Campbell Consulting & Counseling we seek to expand the benefits of proactive mental health and wellness.
